Capital Health Regional Cancer Center has a deliberate blend of medical talent and technology. For example, the powerful combination of CyberKnife® Radiosurgery and da Vinci® Surgery System with a medical team that includes the only fellowship trained CyberKnife neurosurgeon. Our Cancer Center physicians have more experience performing more procedures with CyberKnife and da Vinci than anyone else in the region. And our Radiation Oncology Department offers a comprehensive roster of treatment modalities while providing compassionate care.

Radiation Oncology

Our Radiation Oncology Department provides comprehensive services including traditional 3D radiation therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), brachytherapy, and CyberKnife® Radiosurgery. We work closely with you and your referring physician to develop a care plan that will give you the best possible clinical outcome and address your personal needs.

CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System

The CyberKnife System provides a non-surgical option for the surgical treatment of tumors in the brain, spine, lung, liver, pancreas and prostate. The system delivers high dose radiation to tumors with extreme accuracy, and offers new hope to patients who have inoperable or surgically complex tumors, or who may be looking for another treatment option. Our clinical research protocols provide access to some of the most advanced treatment strategies in the field of CyberKnife radiosurgery.

Medical Oncology

At Capital Health, our board certified medical oncologists collaborate with members of the overall oncology team to coordinate a patient’s total care. The inpatient oncology units at Capital Health also provide specialty-trained care to patients and their families when a hospital stay is necessary. The nurses on the inpatient oncology units and outpatient infusion center are trained in chemotherapy administration and work closely with the medical oncologists.

da Vinci® Surgical System

For patients in need of prostate and kidney cancer treatments, the da Vinci® System is currently being used as a minimally invasive option. The da Vinci combines a surgeon’s skill and expertise with a robot’s precision to perform complex surgery through an area about the size of a dime. The combination means less pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recoveries for patients.

We offer state-of-the-art diagnostic services, including: cutting-edge CT scans, full-field digital mammography, MRI and MRI spectroscopy, PET scans, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, ultrasound , and x-ray.
